About the Owner
Born and raised in Okinawa, Japan, our owner Saya moved to Boston in 2005 to pursue her graduate studies in the Intercultural Relations Program at Lesley University. Prior to this journey, Saya traveled throughout Japan as a cultural delegate for Okinawa Prefecture, sharing the island's rich heritage. These experiences deepened her appreciation for the unique Okinawan culture, including its customs, traditions, and profound connection to nature.
Inspired by her desire to contribute to the island from afar, Saya founded this shop to celebrate and share Okinawa's culture and history through carefully curated artisanal goods. This shop is her way of staying connected to her roots and sharing the beauty and uniqueness of the island with you.
By supporting our shop, you bring home a beautiful piece of Okinawa's heritage while supporting local artists and preserving the island's traditions. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our curated collection and invite you to join us in celebrating the authenticity of Okinawan craftsmanship.
